On November 27, 2017 a special workshop for attorneys and lawyers on Appealing to the Russian Constitutional Court: Assessment of the Prospects of the Case and Argumentation of the Appeal took place.

The workshop was attended by 20 people: attorneys (11), lawyers (9) from Moscow, Orenburg and Samara.

The workshop was hosted by Olga Kryazhkova,Candidate of Juridical Sciences, associate professor of Constitutional Law Department named after N.V. Vitruk of the Russian State University of Justice (Moscow), leading expert of the ILPP Project Protection of Rights in Constitutional Litigation", Olga Podoplelova, ILPP senior lawyer, and Maria Filatova, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, senior lecturer of the HSE Judicial Authority Faculty.

The participants considered the following issues:

• what categories of cases are considered by the Constitutional Court;
• how to conduct a case, so as not to lose the possibility of applying to the Constitutional Court;
• how to determine the prospects for an appeal;
• how to formulate a requirement for the Constitutional Court and to argue an appeal.

The participants received practical experience in assessing appeals to the Constitutional Court and developing constitutional-legal arguments on the examples of specific cases.
