The Faculty of Law of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" is pleased to announce the international scientific conference "Judicial Power in Modern Conditions of Legal Statehood Development" which will take place on 27 May 2016 in Moscow.

The Conference will be organised and held by the Chair of Judicial Power of the Faculty of Law of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" and by the Institute for Law and Public Policy.
 
The key speakers of the Conference will be leading Russian and foreign experts in the area of judicial power, representing Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova as well as the Venice Commission "For Democracy through Law".
 
The following issues will be discussed during the conference:
 
  *   rule of law and the role of judicial power as a machinery to ensure it;
  *   the need of transformations in the area of judicial power in the making of the rule of law;
  *   the international tools of fair trial protection and their impact to national legal systems;
  *   court and justice as guarantees against political crises;
  *   the  strategy of independent judicial power;
  *   the experience of national transformations of judicial system.
 
The working language of the Conference will be Russian.
 
The Conference venue will be the Faculty of Law of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (Moscow), Bolshoi Trekhsvyatitelskiy, 3, conference room 311.
