Doctor of Law , Professor, Professor of the Moscow Higher School of Economics and of the Moscow State University. Research interests: international and European Human Rights law, comparative constitutional law, anthropology, and ethnology law. Anatoly Kovler is a former judge of the European Court of Human Rights (1999-2012). He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and several books, including "The Historical Form of Democracy: the Problems of Political and Legal Theory" (1991), "Anthropology of Law" (2002), European Integration : Federalist Project. Moscow 2016 ( in press). Anatoly Kovler is a member of the editorial boards of "Human Rights. Practice of the European Court of Human Rights", "Law and Culture ("Droit et Cultures") (Paris), "International Journal of Constitutional Law" (Washington, DC) and other journals. He is the corresponding member of the International Academy of Comparative Law and a member of the International Association of Anthropology of Law, a member of the Italian Society of Elections Research and member of other scientific societies.



Professor of Law, Birkbeck Collegeof the University of London. President of the European Lawyers for Democracy and Human Rights, barrister. He is currently a Fellow of the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex, a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Northampton. Professor Bowring has many publications on topics of international law, human rights, and the law of Russia and other Former Soviet Union countries. He frequently acts as a court expert.


Professor, Ph.D. Professor of the European law chair at MGIMO-University (1996). Doctorate in International Law. From 2006 – Vice President of the Russian Association of International Law, from 2009 – Vice President of the Russian Association of European Studies. Member of: Council on International Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Russian Public Council for International Cooperation and Public Diplomacy, Scientific Expert Council of the Institute of Energy and Finance. Professor of Jean Monnet Chair and professor of Jean Monnet Center for European Studies at MGIMO-University (European Centre of Excellence). Author of over 300 publications, including a series of monographic studies on European law and Russia-EU relations.



Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Warsaw (Poland). Former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights (2002-2012). Former Judge of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland (1993 -2001). Member of the Polish Association of the Constitutional Law (headed it in 2001 – 2003). Member of editorial boards of several Polish, American and French journals. The author of more than 250 publications on Polish and comparative constitutional law, which were published in different languages. Among his numerous publications should be mentioned “The Supreme Court of the United States of America” (1982 in Polish), “Constitutional Courts in the Western Europe” (1987 in Polish), “Commentary on the Constitution of the Republic of Poland” (five editions from 1999 to 2007 in Polish), “Polish Constitutional Law” (2003, 2007 in Polish).


Doctor of Law, Professor; First Deputy Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation; President of the Russian Association of International Law. Author of more than 290 scientific works, including 13 monographs, 13 textbooks, 10 manuals.



PhD in Law, Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Member of the Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Member of the International Law Commission, Associate Member of the Institute of International Law, Member of the Russian Association of International Law. Research interests: sources of international law, law of treaties, jurisdiction in international law, responsibility for internationally wrongful acts, immunity of State and its officials from foreign jurisdiction, law of the sea, international justice.



Professor, Ph.D. Doctorate in Law. Honored lawyer of the Russian Federation.  Justice of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union. Head of the Chair of International Law in the Russian State University of Justice (former Russian Academy of Justice). Member of the Working Group on the Reform of the European Court of Human Rights. She has  more than 150 works on private and public international law.


Dr. iur. utr., Dr. h.c. M.A., Professor. Vice President and Judge of the European Court of Human Rights. She has been a Full Professor at Cologne University (Constitutional Law, Eastern European Law, International Law, Social Security Law) and has been a Director of the Institute for Eastern European Law since 2002 till 1 January 2011. Nussberger's research interests focus on the states of Central and Eastern Europe, and encompass the development of constitutional law in these states, and particularly in Russia; the development of jurisdiction of constitutional courts; the influence of public international law on development of domestic law; international social law; and the post-Soviet transformation of the countries' social security systems.


Ph.D. in Law, Principal Legal Secretary of the International Court of Justice, Head of the Department of Legal Matters. Areas of scientific interest: theory of international law, peaceful settlement of international disputes, international law of the sea, international procedural law, law of disarmament. Author of more than 30 publications including a monograph “Chemical Weapons and International Law” (in Russian) (2009). Together with Roman A. Kolodkin: editor of a book “International Law of the Sea. Essays in memory of Anatoly L. Kolodkin” (2014). Member of the Editorial Board of the textbook “International Law”/Editor B.R. Tuzmuhamedov (2014) and author of the chapter on international responsibility.


Professor, Ph.D. Judge of the International Criminal Court  (2006-2015); Judge of the Latvian Constitutional Court (1996-2003). She has directed and contributed to a number of crucial projects integral to the transition to democracy in Central and Eastern Europe. As a judge and professor she has acquired expertise in international humanitarian and public law, with a particular focus on the rights of women and children.
